U.S. stocks higher at close of trade; Dow Jones Industrial Average up 0.99% By Investing.com

Investing.com – U.S. stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher.

At the close in NYSE, the rose 0.99% to hit a new all time high, while the index climbed 0.30%, and the index gained 0.27%.

The best performers of the session on the were Sherwin-Williams Co (NYSE:), which rose 2.94% or 11.41 points to trade at 399.71 at the close. Meanwhile, Boeing Co (NYSE:) added 2.54% or 3.79 points to end at 153.08 and Unitedhealth Group (NYSE:) was up 2.53% or 14.96 points to 605.83 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were NVIDIA Corporation (NASDAQ:), which fell 4.18% or 5.93 points to trade at 136.02 at the close. Chevron Corp (NYSE:) declined 1.23% or 2.00 points to end at 160.36 and Walmart Inc (NYSE:) was down 1.04% or 0.94 points to 89.50.

The top performers on the S&P 500 were Super Micro Computer Inc (NASDAQ:) which rose 15.87% to 38.41, Enphase Energy Inc (NASDAQ:) which was up 8.48% to settle at 71.91 and Ulta Beauty Inc (NASDAQ:) which gained 7.17% to close at 362.65.

The worst performers were GE Vernova LLC (NYSE:) which was down 5.78% to 328.98 in late trade, ConocoPhillips (NYSE:) which lost 5.06% to settle at 106.10 and Vistra Energy Corp (NYSE:) which was down 4.80% to 154.14 at the close.

The top performers on the NASDAQ Composite were ZenaTech Inc (NASDAQ:) which rose 258.66% to 6.42, Quantum Corporation (NASDAQ:) which was up 137.35% to settle at 21.67 and SmartKem Inc (NASDAQ:) which gained 69.69% to close at 5.43.

The worst performers were Cassava Sciences Inc (NASDAQ:) which was down 83.78% to 4.30 in late trade, Oncternal Therapeutics Inc (NASDAQ:) which lost 37.72% to settle at 0.71 and Crown Electrokinetics Corp. (NASDAQ:) which was down 35.68% to 0.42 at the close.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the New York Stock Exchange by 2017 to 815 and 67 ended unchanged; on the Nasdaq Stock Exchange, 2192 rose and 1116 declined, while 120 ended unchanged.

Shares in Sherwin-Williams Co (NYSE:) rose to all time highs; up 2.94% or 11.41 to 399.71. Shares in ZenaTech Inc (NASDAQ:) rose to all time highs; gaining 258.66% or 4.63 to 6.42. Shares in Cassava Sciences Inc (NASDAQ:) fell to 3-years lows; falling 83.78% or 22.19 to 4.30. Shares in Quantum Corporation (NASDAQ:) rose to 52-week highs; rising 137.35% or 12.54 to 21.67. Shares in Oncternal Therapeutics Inc (NASDAQ:) fell to all time lows; falling 37.72% or 0.43 to 0.71. Shares in Crown Electrokinetics Corp. (NASDAQ:) fell to all time lows; losing 35.68% or 0.24 to 0.42.

The , which measures the implied volatility of S&P 500 options, was down 4.20% to 14.60.

Gold Futures for February delivery was down 3.13% or 85.55 to $2,651.65 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 3.03% or 2.16 to hit $69.08 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract fell 2.71% or 2.02 to trade at $72.61 a barrel.

EUR/USD was up 0.74% to 1.05, while USD/JPY fell 0.33% to 154.23.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.60% at 106.86.
