U.S. stocks higher at close of trade; Dow Jones Industrial Average up 0.13% By Investing.com

Investing.com – U.S. stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher.

At the close in NYSE, the added 0.13% to hit a new all time high, while the index climbed 0.86%, and the index gained 1.58%.

The best performers of the session on the were Intel Corporation (NASDAQ:), which rose 4.79% or 1.20 points to trade at 26.25 at the close. Meanwhile, Boeing Co (NYSE:) added 3.10% or 4.56 points to end at 151.72 and Home Depot Inc (NYSE:) was up 2.74% or 10.66 points to 399.03 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were JPMorgan Chase & Co (NYSE:), which fell 4.34% or 10.72 points to trade at 236.34 at the close. American Express Company (NYSE:) declined 2.91% or 8.59 points to end at 286.57 and Caterpillar Inc (NYSE:) was down 1.94% or 8.07 points to 408.81.

The top performers on the S&P 500 were EPAM Systems Inc (NYSE:) which rose 15.47% to 234.04, Viatris Inc (NASDAQ:) which was up 13.52% to settle at 13.18 and Warner Bros Discovery Inc (NASDAQ:) which gained 12.29% to close at 9.41.

The worst performers were Match Group Inc (NASDAQ:) which was down 17.36% to 31.31 in late trade, APA Corporation (NASDAQ:) which lost 10.37% to settle at 22.17 and CVS Health Corp (NYSE:) which was down 6.39% to 57.68 at the close.

The top performers on the NASDAQ Composite were Webuy Global Ltd (NASDAQ:) which rose 165.65% to 0.30, Celularity Inc (NASDAQ:) which was up 110.34% to settle at 3.05 and Nature’s Miracle Holding Inc (NASDAQ:) which gained 81.11% to close at 0.18.

The worst performers were Digital Turbine Inc (NASDAQ:) which was down 43.85% to 1.82 in late trade, Alto Ingredients Inc (NASDAQ:) which lost 37.83% to settle at 1.21 and Simpple Ltd (NASDAQ:) which was down 35.65% to 0.88 at the close.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the New York Stock Exchange by 1735 to 1063 and 43 ended unchanged; on the Nasdaq Stock Exchange, 1685 rose and 1585 declined, while 77 ended unchanged.

Shares in APA Corporation (NASDAQ:) fell to 3-years lows; losing 10.37% or 2.57 to 22.17. Shares in Alto Ingredients Inc (NASDAQ:) fell to 3-years lows; losing 37.83% or 0.73 to 1.21.

The , which measures the implied volatility of S&P 500 options, was down 6.21% to 15.26 a new 1-month low.

Gold Futures for December delivery was up 1.46% or 39.00 to $2,715.30 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 0.63% or 0.45 to hit $72.14 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract rose 0.75% or 0.56 to trade at $75.48 a barrel.

EUR/USD was up 0.68% to 1.08, while USD/JPY fell 1.13% to 152.88.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.71% at 104.24.
